Alt-Fire
A downloadable game for Windows
About the Game
Alt-Fire is an arena style first-person shooter game, where you move fast, act faster, and shoot big sci-fi guns. Its DNA is built on classic shooters like Unreal Tournament and Quake, while injecting some modern quality of life improvements and accessibility options.
Prototype Demo
Details on the specifics of the game design are evolving and I'll update the page here as decisions are made and the project's core design solidifies.
The demo provided here is a very early pre-alpha build with a small sample of test maps, placeholder assets and may definitely contains bugs.
If you want to ask about the demo or chat with the dev you can check out the SkyPyre Discord: https://discord.gg/TKHxNshZWs
Note from the Dev
Hey everyone! My name is Nick, and I'm the solo developer behind this game. Alt-Fire was in development years ago, but was put on hold for a time. Now, with a lot more game development under my belt, it feels like a good time to return to it.
This is a totally new project though, the prior demo was in UE 5.0 and was built on much shakier code. This project, starting with v0.1.0 and higher, is in a new UE 5.3 project built from the ground up. This one focuses more on the core functionality than visual design, so weapons, models, textures, sounds and effects are all generic and shared (while older demos featured full models).
I hope you'll give the demo a try and join me in the continued development of the game!

Install instructions
To play this pre-alpha demo, just unzip it, and run AltFire.exe.
Since the game is just an EXE file, it may trigger an anti-virus program or prompt you to allow it. Rest assured the game is safe, it is an executable created from Unreal Engine.
